Taking Action for Child Care!
Parents and child care and early learning advocates across the country, from California to Connecticut, took action in August by visiting their legislators back in their home districts. They tweeted, emailed their representatives, and made office visits to talk about the importance of fully funding early care and learning programs in the next budget.
If you weren’t able to join us, don’t feel too sad! You can check out some of the pictures our advocates sent back from their home states, and even take action below!
217,000 children are at-risk of losing access to child care that is proven to work if early education grants and programs like CCDBG are not fully funded in the 2018 budget. Programs like Head Start-Child Care Partnerships, afterschool programs, and child care on college campuses are all on the chopping block!
Learn more about the importance of these programs and the need for funding in our Baby’s First Town Hall one-pager (pdf).
